Therapists
Sherri Sones OT/L, CHT
“I am passionate about treating the whole person to regain pain free, functional use of the upper extremity while maintaining their personal quality of life. As therapist, I strive to assess and treat a person's individual needs pertaining to everyday living at home, work and leisure; age and phase of life are also taken into consideration.”
“I have been an occupational therapist for 24 years, 13 of those years I have specialized in hand therapy. My experiences include co-owning a hand therapy clinic for 8 years, as well as working in various physical therapy clinics to round out my clinical skills. I am able to treat according to specific protocol for post-surgical patients in addition to determining the best possible treatment for patients referred for arm, elbow and/or hand pain and dysfunction.”
“Essentially, I treat patients manually with hands on techniques incorporating custom splinting and modalities, plus therapeutic activities as healing permits. I educate the patient regarding the anatomy involved, giving the responsibility back to the patient to own rehabilitation of his or her upper extremity. I work to establish a cohesive home program, introducing adaptive equipment and techniques to increase the patient's independence in activities of daily living. Finally, I incorporate a strengthening program to regain full functional mobility.”
